Well, that was a nice time off. I’m sure many of you were stood down because of the snow. All our winter in one month! LOL… and more snow for Thursday too! Just be safe out there, ok, and pray for those that are out there helping others and the ones keeping an eye on our power. The ones plowing the roads and those that have no choice but to be out there for work or travel. May God’s hand of protection rest upon you all and His Love fill your hearts, Amen!
Ok, so talking with Andrew, he would like to move into the last part of 2 Peter 1. Andrews’s thoughts for our discussion were: “What is the significance of the Transfiguration? It’s central to the 3 synoptic gospels. It is the fulfilment of Jesus’ saying “some of you present here will not see death until they see the kingdom of God.” They weren’t allowed to talk about it until after Jesus died and rose. And evidently it was proof of His sonship and his glory, and here in 2 Pet is the only place I am aware of that Peter actually demonstrates the purpose of the transfiguration”.
The evidence of the Transfiguration
2 Peter 1:16-21
16 For we did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. 17 For when he received honor and glory from God the Father, and the voice was borne to him by the Majestic Glory, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased,” 18 we ourselves heard this very voice borne from heaven, for we were with him on the holy mountain. 19 And we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts, 20 knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation. 21 For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
The account of the transfiguration from the Gospel of Matthew
28 Truly, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.”
8 And when they lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only.
Please pray… I have taken this prayer from Matthew 6:9-13 I fell that this prayer is very fitting,
9 Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. 10 Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread, 12 and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Have a Great Day!
Keep your head up! GOD gives his hardest battles to his strongest SOLDIERS…
So as we go through our day let us go out to help and to care for all that need it, in Jesus’ name…Amen!
