We are coming down to the end of the journey. There is one more after this one and I hope you have been inspired to be more like the Son of God; to be more faithful to the word and more obedient to God as I have been inspired.
So this part is called Jesus, the obedient Son. Let’s read Luke 22:39-46.
When you read this, what stands out to you? For me, it is the great pressure that Jesus is feeling. It is more than you or I could ever feel. Knowing that you must die for other’s sins… could you die for people you don’t even know? But Jesus tells His Father “not my will, but yours be done”. This is what we should be doing. I don’t mean die for other’s sins, but to walk like His Son did. Fight the temptations of the devil and be strong against sin. Not on our own power but His grace. Now I know we are not perfect like Jesus, but we can always improve ourselves with His help. Jesus was feeling tons of stress and what did he do? He PRAYED! That is what we need to do. One difference though, Jesus trusted his Father as we should, but we don’t always, do we? Now, Jesus was God but remember, He was also a man who was tempted in every way like you and I. So let’s think about being more like our Father’s Son and be more obedient. Read Colossians 3:1-11 and think about what verse 10 says to us.
Obedience leads to your righteousness. Follow Jesus just as our Father wants us to. All through the OT, God tells us of the coming of His Son and how he will redeem us. Be careful not to do it for yourself but for God. I will leave you with one more passage that has helped shaped my life… Matthew 6:19-21 19
Verse of the day…. Luke 22:42
He is the Redeemer of the world, who died for sinners, the One who is the Soon-coming King!
Have a Great Day!
Keep your head up! GOD gives his hardest battles to his strongest SOLDIERS…
So as we go through our day let us go out to help and to care for all that need it, in Jesus’ name…Amen!
