“Saturday, 23 November, Athletes in Action, a ministry of Power to Change, held its 41stGrey Cup Breakfast at the Big Four Roadhouse, Stampede Park, in Calgary. Each year Athletes in Action hosts a breakfast the day before the Grey Cup game at which CFL players, coaches, trainers and their spouses share their experiences within the professional sports world as followers of Jesus. The speakers provide attendees with an unvarnished look into their struggles and their faith journey with Christ. Each year the gospel is consistently and clearly presented and those in attendance are offered the opportunity to invite Jesus into their lives.
This year as in previous years, through generous donations the MCF was able to sponsor 20 members of the military community. I am grateful to those who made it possible for these individuals to hear how Jesus is impacting men and women in one of Canada’s professional sports environs. I am also joyful that two of those who attended accepted Jesus as their Saviour and Lord and that another was convicted to recommit himself to the Way. Please join with me in expressing thanks to God for His work in the lives of these people, for inspiring others to give both of themselves and of their financial resources to make the breakfast and its impact possible. Also, please join me in praying for the commitment that has been made by all those who either accepted Jesus or rededicated themselves. As always, God is on the move and we are given the privilege of joining Him.”
It’s exciting yet never too early to mark this in your calendar. 22 November 2020 at Mosaic Stadium in Regina, Saskatchewan will be the next Grey Cup.
Please consider being our guest at the 2020 Grey Cup breakfast event Saturday 21 November and pray for your colleagues who may be impacted by this outstanding event. Also, consider financially sponsoring someone to attend next year’s breakfast.
